A company or brand logo must be able to convey the style, function and target of a given commercial activity with limited information. It must be descriptive while schematic and summarized as well as explicative. If this wasn’t difficult enough, for foreign companies operating or based in China this has to be true in two well differentiated cultural contexts. Pavillard Design no only provides a mandarin version of your company name but we also build an entire conceptual bridge wherever its necessary.

So that no only the name has an appropiate mandarin translation, something of great importance in the chinese market, but that the logo itself is able to convey in both contexts its symbolic and visual message, reinforcing the company’s image as a knowledgeable local player. Here you can see in my portfolio several samples of ‘cross-over’ logos with a brief introduction to the concepts that inspire them.

TASTE SPAIN is food stuff importer from Spain with a shop in downtown Beijing. The logo is the silhouette of an olive branch, representing one of Spain's best known agricultural products. The name is a direct translation of its meaning. We chose a straight typeface for the chinese character so as to match the font used for the english name. We created several variations of color and arrangement for different purposes.
